Inclusion and Corporate Culture Strategist

Tommie Lewis has spent his career providing inclusion strategies to large corporations, public entities and non-profits. Tommie is an excellent facilitator and moderator. He is able to get rooms to talk, align, and see themselves in another's shoes. Tommie has great expertise in partnering with those who desire to think in a healthier and more holistic way. He has led in corporate America, sat at the highest levels, and seen the world! He brings all of this experience and expertise to serve and support the clients and members of Talent Magnet Institute.

Tommie Lewis is also the president and CEO of Make It Plain Consulting, a business management company specializing in HR consulting, workforce development, performance coaching and economic inclusion. In his role, Tommie is responsible for the company’s overall strategic direction, business operations, planning, marketing, sales and service delivery.

Under Tommie’s leadership, Make It Plain Consulting has provided human resources and inclusion strategy solutions to U.S. Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, civic organizations, colleges, and secondary school districts. Make It Plain Consulting is nationally known for its comprehensive organizational culture climate assessments and implementation strategies.

Previously, Tommie served as the chief director of global diversity and inclusion for Convergys Corporation, the world’s leader in relationship management, customer and HR solutions, business analytics and consulting services.

As the diversity and inclusion lead, Tommie designed and implemented Global Diversity Strategies for Convergys’ 75,000 employees in 82 countries. He managed and collaborated with a global team of 250 plus people in North and Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, India, and Asia Pacific. While much of his business travels were in India, Europe and the Middle East, he was responsible for the company’s overall global diversity strategy, executive on-boarding process, leadership programs, and diversity scorecards and measurements.


Tommie holds a bachelor’s degree in Africana Studies from Tennessee State University. He also holds professional certifications in Egyptology and Deep Thought from the University of Chicago, International and Cross-Cultural Management from the University of Houston, Emotional Intelligence and Diversity from the Emotional Intelligence and Diversity Institute (UCLA) and Coaching Across Cultures Executive Coaching from the Advanced International Executive Coaching Seminar in Rome, Italy.

Tommie serves on several boards of directors, including the City of Cincinnati Contract Compliance Advisory Board, the Urban League’s African American Leadership Development Program, Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges, Camp Joy, and Chatfield College.

Tommie has provided workforce training services for the Ohio Job and Family Services, State of Ohio DSA/DAS, Hamilton County Disabilities Development Services, Dayton Youth Works, Cincinnati Public Schools, University of Cincinnati, FirstEnergy, and University of Dayton.
